Introduction

This module offers to combine different low-tech. The solar oven catches the sun's rays and concentrate them behind a window to increased the temperature of the cooking chamber. If the thickness of the oven has a well thermal isulation, the baking may continue once the panels have been tucked. If the door system steal open, the hot environment is perfect to drying fruits if they are protected of the direct sunlight.

Ps : A « Glacial » use is also possible if you not let the sun penetrate

Matériaux

• Polystyrene boards • Wood boards. • A 8mm thick glass (50cmX50cm) • Aluminium scotch or survival blanket ( silver side outwards ). • Pop-rivets. • air chamber • Cords. • Screws.

Outils

• Cutter • Saw • Screwer • riveting machine

Étape 1 - Creation of the polystyrene structure.



Étape 2 - Cover with aluminium or survival blanket.


Étape 3 - Make the wood structure.



Étape 4 - Fix the reflective panels

The use or the air chamber for the hinges enables a stable footing and a proper tension. The cords will help to maintain the panels to 90° in relation to sunlight. They fix also the panels to the chassis one closed.



Étape 5 - Creation of the oven door.

The door is also isolated to minimize to the maximum the thermal bridges.



Étape 6 - Cooking.

Once hermeically sealing, the indoor temperature can exceed 90°C. The cooking tray hels by absorbing the sunlights. This oven is designed to receive and warm eight normal water bootles of 1,5L.


Étape 7 - Creation of the dryer.

Shielded from the light with a ventilation grill.
