• Use a shovel to spread a layer of compost and larvae on the sieve. According to our tests, it is preferable to use a sieve with relatively large mesh sizes.
• Pour water over the spread layer to carry the larvae into the tank
• Once the bin is full, pour it into a box on which you will have previously installed a finer filter to recover the larvae (a net works very well).
• The larvae thus harvested can be fed directly to animals (poultry, fish...) or dehydrated (in a solar oven for example) and reduced to flour to preserve them.
• The organic waste residue can be dried in the sun and used as compost.
