Dans l’idéal, les panneaux seront installés perpendiculairement aux rayons solaires d'hiver soit à 90°+30°=120°. Ils forment donc un angle de 120° à l’horizon, plein Sud (voir schéma). Sinon, pour limiter les pertes, on peut les mettre à la verticale contre un mur, c’est plus intéressant et moins dangereux que sur les toits.
